Indian food is always hailed for its colorful curries and complex flavors. With its use of cumin, tamarind, pepper, and other powerful spicy ingredients ensuing taste combinations unlike anything found around the globe. There is a reason why Indian food is so tasty—it is the fewer numbers of overlapping flavors in ingredients that bring out a unique flavor. In most cuisines especially in western cuisine where ingredients are paired to their similar flavors, but Indian dish can include up to seven ingredients which don’t overlap. For instance, peppers, tamarind, cumin, coriander, and garam masala which in itself includes: black and white peppercorn, cloves, cinnamon, black and green cardamom pods, and cayenne. These spices are normally paired with ingredients that have no chemical overlying; hence, creating an inimitable flavors into the dish. Having said that, it can pose a challenge to pair any wine with Indian dishes, but there is one wine that is exclusively created to be paired with Indian cuisine both for vegetarians and non-vegetarians. I highly recommend Sufi Wine both white and red.
